Thank you for viewing this part of my life... Wildlife and avian preservation and conservation.
I've opened my library to share my own photographic journey into nature / conservation, ecosystems keystone species; and preservation, habitats, loss of species, insect biomass decline through wildlife exploration and avian photojournalism - birds-in-flight/capture species: raptors.
These two releases will help your understanding: t.ly/b1v8A; and t.ly/2W0xq which only begins to express what I have learned about what we are doing to our precious resources.
In my case it only started in 2016 when I emailed the Audibon Society in query as to where have the birds gone? ...and got no reply. I had realized that we no longer saw all the birds tweeting and flurrying around the yard, only a few larger species.
I soon found out what Keystone species meant and the loss of habitats and species all around us and globally. Recently we saw baby turtles dying from micro plastics ingestion (TV); Cameras attached to eagles showing the crumbling Alpine glaciers as Earth warms (APnews/Paris). And as Ilene & I traversed Alaska in a recent trip noting that there was no snow while wearing shorts, Tee's and flip flops. And the list goes on and on.
Since 1980 the global avian population has been reduced over 30% from climate change and human entropy.
From ADAM DORFMAN's Site:
During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Florida’s wading birds were being slaughtered by the millions to adorn women’s hats. Hunters often gunned down birds during the mating season, when their plumes were most gorgeous and they were easiest to shoot, as they would not leave their nests.
Because the parents were unable to care for their young, their deaths wiped out two generations.
The scale of the massacre triggered opposition from conservationists and led to the formation of groups such as the National Audubon Society and ultimately the protection of these beautiful birds.

My professional photo work started in 2002 as the photographer for a premier dinner / music & dance organization in WDC photographing events, galas, and personal photography; head shots for a comedy club; and listings for MLS Agents in the WDC/MD/VA area. As I retired, I found a love for naturescapes, birds, wildlife and travel photography; and wildlife preservation.
I am surrounded by natural beauty and interesting people. I use my camera to document my small vision of avian preservation with a focus on the magic I find in daily life. My pictures tell my stories. I open my wetlands pictures here, for you.
I am more of a purist. I prefer to show pure work not overly post edited work. I spend long hours in the wetlands to bring my photos to life leaving little time to even review the many thousands of frames laying hidden within my computer.
As my site is maturing it will reflect my growing concern over wildlife preservation and conservationism.
Check back often as I will be upgrading and adding regularly. If you enjoyed my love of nature please leave your email, below. I value your input and friendship.
